IconXP 3.21

IconXP Editor's Review

A simple and yet powerful tool for creating and editing desktop and folder icons. Using this program you can create and edit icons in either standard or custom sizes, with color depths up to 32-bit True Color with 8-bit alpha channel.

Icons can be edited using powerful paint tools which include: color replacer, color selector, spray can, pencil, brush, flood fill, text tool. You can draw lines or shapes, apply effects such as shadow, smooth, grayscale, negative, color replacement and many more.
Among the new features added I may mention: the possibility to draw smooth lines and shapes, to paint with smooth brushes, to paint over or replace original pixels, stroke and other effects, the possibility to import Windows Vista icons.

Pluses: You can import and export ICO, BMP, JPEG, CUR, ANI, GIF, WMF, PNG, XPM, XBM, WBMP, Adobe Photoshop PSD files or screenshots. You can also import Mac OS icons.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: Simple, compact, well purpose oriented, in all, a reliable tool for icon creation and editing.
